Our contribution to reducing CO₂ emissions and enhancing regionality

Sustainability at Cresta

Mountains, forests, lakes, and rivers define the landscape around Oberlech. That’s why we focus on three key areas: our CO₂ emissions, our heating supply, and promoting regional products. Here’s what we are specifically implementing:

What We Do

CO2 Consumption

What We Do

  • In 1995, the Oberlech tunnel system was constructed and financed from our own funds. Since then, it has eliminated part of the motorised delivery traffic in the village area: "our major contribution to reducing CO2".
  • Since November 2009, we have been heating with biomass district heating: within just 12 weeks of construction, the people of Oberlech invested €4.5 million on their own initiative in a biomass district heating plant.
  • Through heat recovery, we save up to 3.5 tonnes of CO annually.
  • Die CO₂ Einsparungen vom Cresta.Alpin.Sport.Hotel liegen bei 78.303,45 kg.

What We Do

  • What ends up on your plate starts with the selection of our suppliers. We source our meat from Karnerta in Feldkirch, and our sausages and ham from Hörtnagl in Hall in Tirol. Fish comes from Güfel in Meiningen, whilst fruit and vegetables come from Fruchtexpress Grabher in Frastanz. Free-range eggs are supplied by Martinshof in Buch, and bread comes from the bakery in Lech. We also source dairy products from Vorarlberg Milch in Feldkirch and Vorarlberg mountain cheese from Alpe Batzen in Schröcken. In this way, we rely on partners from Vorarlberg and the surrounding area for many of our food products.
  • Thanks to a special dosing and one-way system, we reduce the use of detergents and cleaning agents.
  • Our straws at the bar and restaurant are made of paper.
  • Our pens are made from recycled plastic.
  • The packaging of our hotel cosmetics is recyclable.
