Austria's largest ski area at the Arlberg

Since winter 2016/17 skiing at the Arlberg became even more varied and comfortable. The new Flexenbahn cableway that runs between Zürs and Stuben/Rauz provides easy access on skis to all resorts of the Arlberg ski area - without the need to drive or take a bus. This closed the last gap in the ski region and makes Ski Arlberg the largest interconnected ski area in Austria.

New cableway link makes skiing on the Arlberg even more varied

Up to now skiers had to take the Flexenpass road to reach the different resorts but since winter 2016/17 all resorts of the Arlberg ski region are easily and comfortably accessible on skis. The new Flexenbahn cableway connects the formerly separated ski resorts St. Anton-St.Christoph-Stuben and Lech-Zürs-Warth-Schröcken and transforms them into one large ski area. The new link covers a distance of 1.8 km between Zürs and Stuben/Rauz. While the Auenfeldjet cableway, which was built in 2013/14, provided the long-awaited connection between Lech-Zürs and Warth-Schröcken, the Flexenbahn cableway finally completes the circle to make the Arlberg mountain range the largest interconnected ski area of the Alpine republic.

Ski Arlberg connects mountains

In addition to the Flexenbahn cableway, Ski Arlberg now offers its guests a new, modified Trittkopfbahn cableway: from Zürs it leads to the new intermediate station from where skiers can either continue to the new top station with the Trittkopfbahn or use the new Flexenbahn to carry on to Alpe Rauz. The Flexenbahn cableway transforms the Arlberg mountain range into a superb, vast ski area eliminating the need for busses and cars. Skiers coming from Lech, Zürs or Oberlech can now easily reach the St. Anton ski resort on skis and guests coming from St. Anton, St. Christoph and Stuben can enjoy the downhill slopes in Lech-Zürs and Warth-Schröcken.

The ultimate skiing experience

In total, Austria's largest ski area offers 305 kilometres of seamlessly interconnected downhill slopes, which can be accessed with 88 lifts and cableways. Versatile slopes with all levels of difficulty and varying exposure to sun make an ideal destination for skiers of all grades, who will always find their perfect slope throughout the day. Freeriders will discover their "powder paradise" at the Arlberg, where the beautifully soft and deep snow guarantees a superb ski experience.

The new ski run covering all areas of the Arlberg mountain range

Since winter season 2016/17 enthusiasm also sees the opening of a spectacular new ski circuit. The Arlberg has been famous for ski circuits such as "Der Weiße Ring", "Tannbergrunde" and "Der Weiße Rausch" and now the "Run of fame" adds a new dimension to the skiing experience. This comprehensive ski circuit with its sensational 65 kilometres of downhill runs and 18,000 metres in altitude difference leads through the entire Arlberg ski area. The "Run of Fame" is undoubtedly the best way to experience the full scale of this interconnected ski area in one day.
